Playoffs continue!

Hi All!
The TWHL2 playoffs have so far been great, we've seen several exciting series adn even an upset or two on th eway to the finals. The Vancouver Greenpeace, who defeated Mexico in four straight games, has had a few days to prepare for the final while Singapore just only won their series this morining. Vancouver was just like Stockholm among the last four teams four the second straight year. Vancouver succeeded where the Ratz failed this year however and will appear in their first TWHL final just like the Dips.

Lets take a look at the two finalists way to the final.
AMER-ICA's conference
Vancouver played good from time to time during the rugular season and finnished with the 10th best regular season record. In the fist round they played against the Chicago Blades. Vancouver won the series quite easily 4 games to won and out scored the Blades 28-17. In the divisional finals Vancouver was faced with the Toronto Maple Leafs. The TML's were favorites going ino this series but the heavy drinking among the Toronto players cost the team dearly. The Greenpeace could win the series 4-2. In the semifinal Vancouver played against Mexico. Mexico had eliminated last years finalists Cape Town in their division final. Vancouver had no difficulties what so ever in the series against the Mexicans and won 4-0.

EUR-ASIAN conference
The Singapore Dipsomaniacs won the presidents trophy after having had the best regular season record in the league. In the first round they played against Hong Kong. Hong Kong was eliminated in four straight games. (Like a team with Eric "Crybaby" Lindros ever will have a chance of surviving the first round.. HA!). In the Divisional finals the dips were faced with the reigning champs, the Tokyo Dragons. The Dragons had in their series eliminated the Hated Typhoons. Singapore, however were on a roll after kicking Lindros' butt back to Hong Kong and won the series 4-0. At this point the Dips were huge favorites to go all the way. It's not easy to make it out of the Lee division to start with, and now the Dips had doneit without losing a single game. To reach the finals the Dips had to go through the Stockholm Ratz in the conference finals. No one thought that the Ratz would have any chance at beating the Dips. Stockholm won game one in Singapore and after four games had the Ratz a 3-1 lead. The Dips were now close to being eliminated in a humiliating way. Singapore goalie Steve Shields who had played every game in the playoffs up untill now was replaced by the Dominator before game 5. The Dominator and an unfortenate injury to Ratz winger Handzus was all it took for the Dips to turn the series around and win 4 games to 3.

So now we're finally here, at the finals. Both teams have a good chance at winning the Trans-World CUP. The offseason is almost here and we all know what that means. The FA draft is scheduled to be held within a couple of weeks. The trade restrictions will be lifted after the FA draft and then the silly season can begin.
